Depends which part you go to. Up north it is subtropical and summer time is best.- between December and end of February for the best weather. But I live in the south on the coast and our spring and autumn is usually better than our summer. Then again inland in the Central Otago Lakes district about a 5 hour drive from here it is hot and sunny all smmer long and you can also ski there in the winter.
