Back on the Gazelle!

Yesterday I ended my post with:

I have to do this, though - so that’s where I’ll be challenging myself for these last 5 weeks. To work out daily, and to drink at least 48oz of water every single day. That’s the goal!

Just reporting in with a little note of success - I took some time out today for a workout, and it felt great! I managed to put in about 22 minutes total, including warm up and cool down time.

My goal is to work it up to 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week - consistently. I’m using Tony Little’s Gazelle, by the way, which I bought back in August. I was originally shopping for a treadmill, but the Gazelle turned out to be an excellent choice!

As for water - I have my bottle by my side as we speak. I drank 12oz during my workout, and plan to get back in the habit of carrying it with me, and drinking at least two 24oz bottles a day.

I finally figured out what would truly motivate me to get back on track: a reason. You know what I’m talking about — like a school reunion, an upcoming cruise, something like that. Well, that’s what I did. I made some tentative plans for myself that are incredibly motivating ;-)

Good for you Lynn! Sometimes the hardest part is just getting back into it the first day.

So now you’ve got my curiosity up. Will you give us a hint about your reason?

    A hint? Sure :-)

As you might have guessed (?), Albert and I parted ways several months ago. After 2+ years together, the relationship just wasnt going in a good direction.

So… as a newly single woman (again!), I have made tentative plans for a trip 3 months from now (in May). And that’s all the details I’m going to share in *this* “hint” ;-)

You deserve a great vacation Lynn. I’m sure you’ll be in top shape by May!

    Hi Lynn,
I left a message on your SSWT forum blog. Didn’t know if it would get to you or not so, I’ll try here. I just want you to get this message because I’ve been thru some bummer relationships, plus an aweful 10yr marriage, and learned thru the course that, The only person who can make “you” happy on a “continuous” basis ,is yourself. A good relationship can be thet icing on the cake. Working out makes you “feel good” about yourself! This is the message I left at the SSWT forum blog……

I just read your blog and hated to hear about your relatonship ending.
I don’t now if you remember me but, I am a new single mom of two. Trust me! Life “always” gets better!
Anyway, I was very excited to read that you are working out! I am a Personal trainer and have been one for many years and I am proof positive that taking care of yourself and your body reaps many physical and mental benefits. You Go Girl!
If your ever in Atlanta, let me know. You’ll have your very own trainer waiting for ya! Its the least I could do after you have helped me with your words of encouragement and insight.

I agree Valerie - you gotta do it for YOU :-)

In the end, you get out of life what you put into it… I’m seeing that now more than ever in my 30’s, and as I look forward to where (and WHO) I want to be in my 40’s.

Thanks, Valerie - your encouragement & support means a lot!

    ~ Lynn
