Joining in on the Challenge

Up until about 5 years ago I was a walking fanatic. I walked 4 to 5 miles every day. I divorced and the house I bought was on a busy highway and I no longer had a convenient place to walk so I quit exercising. I have gained about 30 pounds in the last couple of years mainly because I quit exercising.

I quit my job at the end of November so I have more free time. My husband and I recently moved so I have a wonderful place to walk. My driveway is half a mile long! I have just been inactive for so long that it has been easy to find excuses not to get started.  This challenge was just the kick in the rear I needed. Thanks, Sandra.
My goal is to get back into shape and loose the extra weight by starting a walking program beginning today.

    Hi Donna! Thanks for joining us. I love walking too. Have you ever done any races? I’ve done several including a half marathon and the Ancorage Marathon, all racewalking. It is fun and could give you a goal to work toward.

    Sandra I have never done any races but after I walked today I felt like I had been running a race ::) I am really out of shape.
